New granular staff permissions

Support for visual filters
In the Search & Discovery app, colour and images are now available on the filter options shown on the collection and search result page.
POS tweaks

Order editing enhanced
When editing orders, there is now the ability to add, remove, or update discounts, which was previously exclusive to new items. This allows for the application of discounts if a customer forgets to do so, for example.
Shopify Tax Platform launched
The introduction of Shopify Tax Platform caters for the integration of tax services into Shopify. It allows leveraging of Shopify’s commerce tools in conjunction with vetted tax partners.
Shopify Tax now supports tax inclusive pricing in the US and will calculate rooftop accurate rates and product-specific taxes in states where you have activated tax collection. It is also available to merchants that sell and ship to buyers in the US.
The system now supports Point of Sale (POS) orders to eliminate the hassle that comes with maintaining overrides, tax toggles, or tracking sales tax holidays.
Analytics filtering
Shopify reports located on the Analytics page can now be filtered by Markets. Filters based on specific Markets can be applied to Sales, Behaviour, and Customer reports.
Gift card tweaks
Customers will now have the option to add a recipient and personalised message to a gift card, as well as schedule the sending.
Meanwhile, for merchants, an on/off toggle when creating a gift card email will allow manual or automatic creation, with the former option providing additional control and visibility.
Further checkout versatility
Extensibility for checkout, Thank you and Order status pages means Plus merchants can use the checkout editor to customise appearance and functionality. Extensible Thank you and Order status pages are compatible with checkout branding, ensuring consistency across experiences.
All merchants can now use the theme editor to select between one-page checkout and three-page checkout. Customisations will migrate from one layout to another.
Preferential trade agreement support
Markets Pro now supports preferential trade agreements in duties calculations and customs documentation, resulting in lower duty rates. Merchants should review their products’ country of origin.
Shopify Flow error notifications
A new trigger within Shopify Flow will run when an error is detected for a workflow version, notifying merchants. The trigger, ‘Workflow error threshold reached’, will only run once per workflow version until the error is resolved.
Custom dates for metrics
Merchants can now pick specific time ranges to view store performance metrics using a custom date selector on Home. The default view will be ‘month to date’.
Cohort Analysis report upgraded
November’s updates were rounded off with a significant update to the Customer Cohort Analysis report.
It will now include an ‘amount spent per customer’ metric, which is an average amount customers have spent in their history with your store. It includes taxes, discounts, shipping, and refunds if applicable, and is intended to provide further insight into customers’ value.
There is also an option to toggle sales metrics and see cumulative values for net, gross, and total sales between cohorts.
