We are pleased to announce that our successful collaboration with Motorpoint, the UK’s leading independent car supermarket, has seen us named finalists for not one – but two titles in the Global Search Awards.

Back in December 2022, we teamed up with Motorpoint amidst some tough trading conditions. The economy was shaky, supply chains were under pressure, and online competition was fiercer than ever. But rather than be deterred, our determined team rose to the challenge.

The Global Search Awards reward and recognise the innovation and creativity of agencies and individuals working in PPC, SEO, content marketing, and more across various business sectors. As a leading performance marketing agency in the north, we were keen to showcase our outstanding paid media campaign, which is now enjoying record breaking results for our partner - great potential for future growth.

Strategic approach to overcome challenges

Upon partnering with Motorpoint, we set clear objectives to revamp their paid search strategy with the aim of boosting profitability.

By combining our expertise in paid search with advanced software solutions, we achieved unprecedented levels of success in our campaigns. This collaboration thrived amidst the challenging market conditions, highlighting the impact of strategic thinking and innovative solutions.

Our approach included:

Tactical focus: Aligning outcomes closely with Motorpoint’s goals.

Tailored messaging: Utilising platform technology to deliver personalised product messages to targeted audiences.

Innovative technology: Developing bespoke technology, using our own propriety tool, to address brand search incrementality.

How did we do it?

To leverage savings from brand campaigns, we built a bespoke search incrementality testing tool, Parity®, that simultaneously monitors brand paid competition and organic rankings for search queries.

Parity® highlights where there are no competitor ads and Motorpoint rank in position one organically, allowing us to test pausing and unpausing paid activity – reinvesting spend into more profitable campaigns to drive genuinely incremental leads.

With a catalogue of 5,000+ vehicles, we introduced Search Ads 360 to build inventory-based campaigns, creating customisable templates using feed attributes to ensure key queries were included.

By adding lowest monthly cost, available stock per model, and popular attributes, this allowed us to stand out against competitors and craft tailored messaging - more relevant and targeted to our audience’s intent and motivations.
