We are thrilled to announce that Herd’s incredible paid media team has been honoured with the Collaborative Campaign of the Year award at the 2025 UK Paid Media Awards.
This prestigious accolade recognises our joint efforts with Motorpoint in transforming the car-buying journey through data-driven decision-making.
Driving smarter sales
Our work with Motorpoint focused on leveraging data insights to enhance customer experiences and streamline the purchasing process in the automotive sector. This award is a testament to the dedication and collaboration across both teams in delivering outstanding results.
The project aimed to tackle overstocking. We needed to make sure that popular vehicles wouldn’t consume a disproportionate share of the advertising budget. Improving the visibility of underperforming models was key.
While discounting seemed like the natural choice, this was not a sustainable option.
To help Motorpoint optimise stock movement, we developed a game-changing strategy that redefined their approach to vehicle sales.
At the core of our solution was an advanced insights dashboard, integrating real-time business data with cross-channel performance metrics. This gave us the ability to pinpoint vehicles experiencing declining profit margins, slower week-on-week sales, or those approaching the upper limit of their ideal ‘days on sale’ period.
Leveraging our feed management platform, we refined budget allocation at the make-and-model level. Rather than focusing solely on the lowest cost-per-lead (CPL), we prioritised underperforming vehicles, ensuring they received the attention and investment needed to drive sales.

Collaboration was key. Working closely with Motorpoint’s marketing and buying teams, we modelled cost savings from minimising unnecessary discounts. This freed up budget that could be reinvested into marketing efforts without increasing overall spend.
The result? A data-driven, cost-neutral approach that not only funded the campaign but also encouraged a smarter, more strategic mindset within Motorpoint’s buying team.
