As summer ramps up, Shopify has rolled out a series of updates, changes, and improvements. We’ve wrapped up all the latest tweaks and upgrades that will allow you to enhance your store.
Better image support for Storefront filters

Better image support for Storefront filters
Storefront filters in the Search & Discovery app now include better support for images.
Merchants will be able to better display icons, logos, and detailed imagery with their filter values.
Customers will quickly understand different filter options to find the products most relevant to them.
Customer privacy management for custom pixels
Customer privacy permissions and data sale settings for a custom pixel can now be easily managed and viewed in the ‘Customer events’ page.
This further integration with the ‘Customer privacy’ section ensures custom pixels fire when the proper permissions are given.
New actions available in Shopify Flow
You can check if a customer is in a segment in Shopify Flow via a new ‘Look up customer in segment’ action.
This can be used in any workflow that provides a customer – it can be checked in a condition or in code to verify membership.
Elsewhere in Shopify Flow, you can now use ‘console.log’ in Run Code action, making it easier to debug JavaScript code.
Shopify’s Run Code documentation offers further information on ‘console.log’ including its implementation and limitations.
Add exchange products and return fees
When approving return requests, merchants can now easily add exchange products when buyers have indicated they want an exchange, streamlining the return process.
Return shipping and restocking fees can also be added during the return approval process, with the latter automatically applied to the return balance.
Schedule free DHL Express pickups
Merchants can now schedule DHL Express ad hoc pickups in Shopify Admin for Markets Pro, enabling more efficient management of international logistics.
Markets Pro ad hoc DHL Express pickups are free, and are scheduled in the same way as Shopify Shopping DHL Express pickups.
Markets Pro and non-Markets Pro parcels can be combined in a single DHL Express pickup, though scheduling in admin is limited to ad hoc pickups. The DHL Express website can be used for recurrent pickups.
Fresh theme for B2B businesses
There is a new customisable theme designed for B2B businesses available to all Shopify plans.
‘Trade’ features new quick add functionality to enable wholesale customers to assemble bulk orders quickly. All products and variants can be viewed and added to their cart from collection pages, negating the need to navigate the full product description page.
Advanced B2B features like quantity rules and volume pricing are exclusive to Plus.
Improved product list component
All product list screens in the POS app, including search results, collections, and exchange pages, now feature an ‘Add to Cart’ button, making transactions quicker and more intuitive.
Improved layout on detail pages
The detail pages of Orders, Draft Orders, Products, and Customer Interfaces in the Shopify POS App have been overhauled.
A new layout includes a split-screen view and an action menu on the right rail of the screen added, aiming to improve operational efficiency and offer a seamless approach to high-priority workflows.
The need to scroll is minimised thanks to more information appearing in a single view, while easily visible action menus allow tools to be found faster.
Address autocompletion setting moved
The autocompletion setting has been moved to the checkout and accounts editor – it was previously housed under Settings > Checkout.
App sections updated and reorganised
Several sections and features in the Shopify App have been updated:
Company details
The app section now aligns more closely with the web edition, unlocking more features, while some features, such as company information, have been adjusted for better continuity.
Gift cards
There is now more focus on issued gift cards, making the app more consistent with the web. There is no longer a Gift Cards Overview screen, but the view can still be achieved via sorting and filtering.
Inventory scanner
Updates now mean it’s easier to switch locations for inventory adjustments, scan multiple items, make additional quantity edits, and understand final adjusted inventory count.
Cookie banner in native language
The cookie banner will now be shown in a customer’s native language, with Shopify providing translations to 32 languages.
Translations can be customised with translation apps such as Shopify Translate & Adapt.
Discount code toggle for draft order invoices
There is a new setting that allows discount codes at checkout for draft order invoices to be turned on or off.
The setting can be found within the send and share invoice flows in draft orders and is disabled by default.
New checkout and accounts editor
A new checkout and accounts editor offers an all-in-one solution to customising the buying experience.
Apps can be managed and previewed with an improved workflow for the Thank You and Order status pages.
The checkout and accounts editor will also house branding like logos, colors, fonts, and backgrounds, and provide the capability to save customisations as drafts without impacting your live store.
Stocky purchase orders extension
A new Stocky purchase orders extension for the Smart Grid allows merchants to keep stock levels balanced and excess inventory costs low.
Staff can see and receive incoming inventory from suppliers directly in Shopify POS, creating manage workflow that is accessible in one click.
Fraud analysis expanded
Shopify’s fraud analysis, which helps identify orders that could be fraudulent, now provides a clearer indication of when a fraud recommendation is unavailable for an order.
Such orders will still have risk indicators available.
Capture payments per fulfillment automatically
Payments can now be automatically captured when each part of an order is fulfilled.
The capture per fulfillment feature enhances financial reporting as revenue is recorded as it is earned and improves customer experience as payment is only collected when items are fulfilled – rather than all at once at checkout.
Ship to pickup points
Merchants in the UK can now ship to over 7,000 Evri pickup points.
Customers will therefore be able to collect orders from their most convenient Evri ParcelShop, expanding merchants' reach and adding another layer of efficiency.
